Oba Amele joins ancestors

THE Alara of Aramoko-Ekiti in Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Oba ‘Wole Amele has joined his ancestors.

The monarch died penultimate Sunday during an illness, barely three months after he lost his first wife, Olori Taiwo Amele.

An entertainer of repute and one of the pioneers of Nigeria’s movie industry, late Oba Amele was popularly known as Councillor Balogun for his role in the now rested sitcom, Village Headmaster.

While reacting to the passage of the monarch, Chief Segun Asubiojo, the chairman of the local government, described the monarch as a very pleasant traditional ruler, whose reign brought positive changes to the agrarian town.

According to the council boss, Oba Amele registered his precence in the nation’s entertainment industry before he was made the king of Aramoko 10 years ago and we really appreciated his contributions to the socio-economic and political advancement of the local government and the state in general.
