Former Ondo LG boss dies in autocrash

A former Chairman of Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Lawrence Kokumo Komolafe, has died in an autocrash.

Komolafe, who doubled as the Ondo State Chairman of Association of Local Government (ALGON) and the National Vice Chairman of ALGON was said to be going to Akure from Imeri at about 4.00 a.m last Tuesday where he was said to have attended a senatorial meeting before he met his untimely death.

Aged 57, the late politician was said to have joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state in year 2001 and won the chairmanship slot of his council in 2004.

He was once voted as the best chairman of all the local government chairmen in the State as a result of various developmental projects he executed during his tenure.

The deceased, who held the traditional title of Mayegun of Arigidiland, his home town, was a product of University of Ibadan where he distinguished himself having bagged a Second Class (Upper) in 1977.

The late Komolafe will be buried in his home town, Arigidi Akoko on Friday, while wake-keep holds on Thursday.
