Onwuamaegbu succeeds Giwa-Amu as Army PRO

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) has appointed Brigadier-General Emeka Onwuamaegbu, as the new Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR).

Onwuamaegbu's appointment followed the death of the former director, Brig.-Gen. Solomon Giwa-Amu, who died in a motorzaccident on February 18. on the Abuja-Kaduna highway.

Sources close to the Army Headquarters confirmed the appointment on Sunday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Brig.-Gen. Onwuamaegbu was the DAPR in 2006 and early 2007 before he went for a promotion course at the U.S. War College.

On his return, Onwuamaegbu was posted to the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, near Kaduna. He was later promoted Brigadier General and posted to 13 Brigade Calabar, as the Brigade Commander.
