Yar’Adua presents N69.4bn FCT budget to Senate

President Umaru Yar’Adua, on Thursday, presented the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) 2008 budget of N69.45 billion to the Senate.

Yar’Adua, in a letter read by the Senate President, David Mark, said emphasis was placed on infrastructure development, while recurrent expenditure was de-emphasised.

The breakdown shows that N15.77 billion was proposed for personnel cost, N9.72 billion for overhead expenditure and N43.96 as capital vote.

Yar’Adua also requested the Senate to confirm the nomination of Hajia Fati Kake’nna as a part-time member of the Police Service Commission.
