Poly Ibadan sacks randy lecturer

A randy lecturer at the Department of Geology, The Polytechnic, Ibadan who was with a prostitute in his office has been sacked.

The decision by the school authority to sack the 60 year-old lecturer was contained in a release dated 5th March, 2008, signed by the institution’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Alhaji Ademola Soladoye and made available to the press at the weekend.

The release read, “the fact of the matter in question is that the said lecturer, an (associate lecturer) had a female visitor, with whom he had a misunderstanding which escalated to a level which prompted him to invite the security to intervene. It further attracted others within the Department (Geology Department).

“In as much as a case of sexual harassment/assault or whatever name Jackson Udom would give the fracas that ensued between the duo, the fact remain that the security unit of the institution was not in possession of undies of the duo as reported.

“However, the management of the Polytechnic Ibadan, will not, for any reason tolerate any form of misconduct on the part of students as well as staff, hence a thorough investigation into the fracas between the lecturer and the lady was carried out.

“The management concluded in its investigation that a fracas in the office is a misconduct that has brought the name of the institution into disrepute, hence since the affected lecturer is an associate lecturer and not a full-time staff, he has consequently been relieved of his position”.
