Railway Pensioners Give FG 41-day Ultimatum

Pensioners of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) have given the federal government a 41-day ultimatum to pay their pension arrears or face the wrath of God.

The pensioners, who rained curses on whoever was responsible for their plight, said they could not understand why the federal government refused to pay their pension arrears, having paid their colleagues in the airways, the police and the army – including the Biafran soldiers.

The National Chairman of the Railway pensioners, Mr. Cornelius Onyeji, while addressing journalists in Lagos, yesterday, said that the data of the three categories of pensioners had been sent to the Ministry of Finance several months ago as requested, adding that the ministry had not done anything about it.
