Kola Oyelere, Kano - 08.03.2008
KANO State Governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, has said that interest generated from banks is un-Islamic, adding that in order to avert Allah’s punishment on the day of judgment, the state has opened a separate account for it to avoid mixing it with state money.
He also said that Shari’a implementation goes beyond cutting people’s hands.
However, the state governor revealed that since assumption of office in 2003, no fewer than 50,000 people have gained job opportunities from human development cardinal programme of the present government.
