LG Boss Promises Bursary For Students

Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Chief Olu Olaleye, has assured students who are indigenes of the local government in higher institutions across the country of the payment of bursary allowances.

Addressing newsmen in his office during the week, Olaleye said that one of the ways that government could alleviate poverty among the masses was the payment of bursary allowances and scholarship award to students.

Speaking on his behalf, the Information Officer of the local government, Mr. Olubunmi Ayeni, said that the chairman was doing its best to alleviate poverty and other problems confronting the people of the local government.

Ayeni further said that part of the steps taken in reducing poverty was the payment of bursary allowance to students in higher institutions.

According to him, the collection of the bursary forms is now in progress, adding that immediately after the collection, the chairman would pay them accordingly.
