Delta Govt Warns Land Developers
08.03.2008
The Delta State Government has threatened to demolish all illegal structures and unapproved buildings on its land. The Commissioner for Lands, Surveys and Urban Development, Mr. Raymos Guanah, gave the threat Friday in Asaba.
He said any person involved in such illegal act would be chaged with trespass. Guanah said the ministry had received many reports on illegal structures being erected on government lands across the state.
He noted that the Asaba airport project site and the Asaba Industrial estate were the “core areas” being encroached on by trespassers.
Guanah wondered why people would acquire government’s land and build structures without approval from the ministry.
