Julius Berger Pledges To Develop Niger Delta

THEOBVIOUSLY scared by the Commando-like style of the abduction of one of its German expatriate staff, the management of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc., on Friday, in Abuja, vowed to accelerate its drive towards carrying out works that will support the development of the Niger Delta Region and Nigeria as a whole.

While noting that incidents of kidnapping and brutality threatened the genuine interests of the nation and the Niger Delta people, the construction company stated that it had been working closely with the Nigerian authorities, imploring all people to support positive efforts in building Nigeria.

In a press release signed by Mr. Clement Iloba, the Public Affairs Advisor of the Company, the release on Tuesday of Mr. Munch who was kidnapped same day was confirmed.

While accepting the fact that the incidence of the armed attack around Rumuji Area of the East-West Road of Port Harcourt on Mr. Munch could not be reversed, Mr. Iloba expressed happiness that he sustained no physical injuries but consoled the families of the slain soldiers in the brutal and senseless attack.

The company praised the professionalism of the State Security Service (SSS) and other authorities for assisting in the release of the kidnapped expatriate staff in less than 12 hours.
