Nsofor’s debut delights Mourinho

By Dipo Ogunsola - 07.10.2008

INTER Milan coach, Jose Mourinho believes Nigerian international, Obinna Nsofor will give his side a special counter attacking quality as the Serie A progresses.

Nsofor came on for his Inter debut in the final minutes of last weekend's 2-1 victory over Bologna and almost brought the house down when he shot close to goal after setting up a counter-attack.

The Nigerian, whose loan deal to English Premiership side, Everton, hit the rocks due to inadequate international appearances, replaced winger, Quaresma for his Inter debut in the 88th minute but had a lasting impression on Mourinho.

Obinna went straight into the thick of the action and set up a counter-attack with a backheeled pass, and finished it off with a shot that goes behind for a goal kick

He would have had a goal to his credit but the game's official ruled his effort offside. Ibrahimovic should have restored his team's two-goal cushion in overtime but crashed his low shot wide with Obinna lurking in space.

“We created chances until the end and we ended the match with the chance of a penalty and two counter-attacks by Obinna really gave us another side of the game we are yet to experience this season,” Mourinho tells Inter TV.

“ We had three clear chances, we had the possibility to score more, but we in the creating phase at the moment. Our opponents don't create many chances, it's them who take advantage of our mistakes,” said the Portuguese trainer.
