Protea opens another hotel in Port-Harcourt

From indications, the GM Hotels United Kingdom, manager of Protea seems to be impatient about making Nigeria its main hub of business in Africa.
Not long after Protea launched itself in Abuja, Nigeria less than a decade ago, the Hotel has continued to dot on different cities in the country, counting on its knack for taste and class to make the difference.
At presents, Protea had launched itself in 10 strategic areas in Nigeria. It has three posh structures in Abuja, one in Lagos, one in Port Harcourt and other states, where as it is set again to take the oil city of Port Harcourt by storm. The management of the Hotel is already planning to showcase another Protea in Port Harcourt on May, 9, 2008.
The Hotel managers had concluded plans to bring down the Vice president Dr. Goodluck Jonathan who in turn would be leading the stakeholders in the hospitality business from Abuja to the venue. The vice president is already of the impression that the government of Nigeria should be alive to the kind of initiatives being displayed by Protea if only to evolve a cutting edge for the government’s master plan on tourism industry.
The government of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua could not have been less impressed that Protea is leading the pathway towards fulfilling its desire to launch Nigeria into the league of developed economies in the world by 2020. To an extent, Nigeria has started the race towards fulfilling that dream, the vice President having inaugurated a committee on Vision 2020 last week in Abuja. Protea is thus lucky to be at the vanguard of investors set to partner with the government in an effort towards extricating the economy of Nigeria out of the woods.
The launch of a new Protea Hotel in Port Harcourt is expected to parade the governors of Niger-Delta States and their counterparts from the South-East. That in itself is a strategy aimed at endowing the Hotel with a fast beginning since the very important personalities being invited are expected to get tantalized by the beauty and alluring services it offers.
The Hotel had already started giving some Nigerians different captivating treats, and by that, it has succeed in creating a league of friendly and revolving friends for itself. Since its started operation, the Protea Hotel Port Harcourt had hosted Nigerians from nearly all strata of the society.
