Everton celebrates Yobo, Yakubu’s return

The Super Eagles’ early elimination from the 2008 Nations Cup in Ghana was greeted with satisfaction in England, with a teammate of Joseph Yobo and Yakubu Aiyegbeni celebrating the duo’s return from Ghana.

Though, Yobo and Yakubu fell short of continental glory, following Sunday’s 1-2 loss to the Black Stars of Ghana, but their pal at Goodison Park, Manuel Fernandes is excited that The Toffees would be boosted by their returnee Africans.

Fernandes said he was looking forward to getting better results, now that Yakubu, Yobo and Steven Pienaar were expected to return to Goodison Park this week following the exit of their countries from the championship in Ghana. “It’s still looking good for the rest of the season. The squad can only improve as we’ve got Steven Pienaar coming back now plus Joseph Yobo and Yakubu also, so I think it’s looking really good for us,” the Everton ace said.
