NIPOGA: ‘Mapoly 'll continue to dominate badminton’

Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, (MAPOLY), Mr.Ipadeola Oladeji, has said that the institution will continue to dominate badminton event in NIPOGA Games.
Athletes who represented the institution grabbed five of the seven gold medals available in the event at the just-ended 15th NIPOGA Games.
Team Mapoly, with about 50 athletes won its first gold medal courtesy of Adekunle Idowu, Dele Fadipe and Sulaimon Yaya after defeating their counterparts from Kaduna in the final.
Also in the female team event, the trio of Badru Olaide, Ngozi Kalu and Anuoluwapo Ojo defeated the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, while in the doubles event, Badru Olaide and Ngozi Kalu defeated the host institution to also cart home the gold medal.
Adekunle Idowu defeated Nengak Ibrahim of the Kaduna Polytechnic in the male singles event to cap it all after Adekunle Idowu and Fadipe Dele had scaled past their opponents also from the Kaduna Polytechnic.
The team also won two silver and three bronze medals in tennis and athletics respectively to place sixth on the medals table.
