Former African
men’s 100 metres
record holder and Olympian, Chidi Imoh has expressed delight with Nigeria’s second place finish at the 2008 African Athletics Championship in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with a verdict that Olusoji Fasuba showed again that he is the country’s most promising athlete of the moment.
Imoh stated in an interview with brilafm.net from his base in the United States of America that Fasuba’s win was a good sign ahead of the Olympic Games, and believes it will prepare the lad for the main event.
“It’s good to hear that Fasuba is doing well and keeps winning important races. This latest one is even more important because it means he can now set higher targets for the Olympic Games.
“He is building up to the Games and the signs are there that he can get better when the time finally comes in August. It’s good for Nigeria and it’s good for him especially,” the 1992 Olympian reasoned.
