NFA to pay Eagles’ coaches

Monday. AFP PHOTOCHAIRMAN of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), Alhaji Sani Lulu has disclosed that the association is taking full responsibility for the wages of all four Super Eagles coaches, pending discussions with Globacom.

Lulu told KickOffNigeria.com that plans to discuss the sponsorship with the communication giant was still ongoing.

“Glo had a contract with us and the contract unfortunately was to sponsor foreign technical adviser but now we have a Nigerian crew we have made appropriate presentations to Glo with appropriate information on the new arrangement we are going into.

“They are our sponsors and they are not just sponsoring the coaches, they are also our main sponsors in our national programmes.

“In the last two or three weeks we have been doing these interactive sessions with Glo and it is not just something you just rush into, but because of the time factor, we decided that we must set the pace and that is why we have decided to pay the coaches.

“So the NFA has taken full responsibility of settling the (bills of the technical) team. We sincerely believe that it is a new dispensation and we will graciously be prompt in settlement,” Lulu stated.
