Gabonese president visits
Synagogue
Shola Adekola, Lagos - 06.01.2008
Gabonese President, Omar Bongo
arrived Lagos yesterday through the Murtala Muhammed Airport presidential wing aboard the country’s presidential plane.
The aircraft which touched down at the presidential lounge at about 11.00am brought the president who was looking pale.
Efforts made by photographers and reporters at the airport to speak with President Bongo failed as his security aides prevented them on the excuse that the president was on a private visit.
Bongo who went into the inner area of the lounge for about ten minutes to rest was later assisted into a waiting black jeep which took him to an unknown destination.
Sunday Tribune however gathered that President Bongo was in Nigeria for spiritual healing at the Synagogue Church of All Nations.
Among the convoy that followed the Gabonese president was a coastal bus belonging to Federal Palace Hotels.
