Ticket scarcity hits Enugu
Dipo Ogunsola, Enugu - 05.11.2009
FANS went through
hell yesterday in
Enugu in attempt to secure match tickets for the second round match between Turkey and United Arab Emirates.
The demand for the tickets reached a desperate level because the match is the last of the Nigeria 2009 at the venue hence they were hoarded with the expectation that they would be sold at higher values on the eleventh hour of the match.
‘’It’s cruel we do this to ourselves,” laments Mrs Kate Ifeanyichukwu. ‘’I have not been to any of the games so I decided I have to experience it with my kids but the tickets are nowhere to be bought.”
Victor Nsofor who said he came all the way from Udi Local Government Area laments : ‘’I had misjudged the kick off time . I have been here since 9 a.m to buy tickets so I could secure a place at the stadium. I was told the match will start by 7pm but I don’t care how much but I can’t find the tickets.”
Cyril Ayamfor cares about the price. ‘’I can’t buy tickets at exorbitant rate, the game will be on TV. I will rather go back home, he said.”
