MourinhoFORMER Chelsea manager and Inter Milan FC tactician, Jose Mourinho has described Super Eagles John Mikel Obi as a dedicated, loyal and committed player just as he was mobbed by fans on arrival at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport Friday night.
The special one who arrived aboard KLM Airline about 8pm while speaking at the dinner held in his honour early Saturday morning said he could not hide his feelings for African players saying the African players he has come across during his coaching career are always dedicated and loyal to their coaches.
Recounting his encounters with Benni McCarthy while in Porto FC and Mikel Obi at Chelsea as well as Micheal Essien, Sulley Muntari and Obinna Nsofor at Inter Milan, Mourinho said they have been good companions and reliable players, adding that they form an integral part of his success as a coach.
The coach who spotted a Polo T-Shirt over a jeans, looked tired having flown from China to Holland before connecting flight to Nigeria singled out Mikel as a player with abundant talent.
Mourinho, who commended the Kwara State government over the kwara Football Academy said his relationship with Mikel continues and will remain cordial despite the fact that he is no longer his coach, saying every African player he has come across has been loyal to him.
“Every African player I have come across are loyal and they never betray their coach. So the relationship continues.” He said.
The inter Milan boss added a everywhere I go, I make sure that I have an African player in my team because they are bundle of talent.
