Olofinjana’s Wolves miss play-off slot

DESPITE scoring an
87th minute goal
against Plymouth on Sunday, Nigerian midfielder Seyi Olofinjana and his Wolvershampton Wanderers mates will have to wait for another season to make a bid for Premiership place as the team narrowly missed a play-off slot.
Wolves just missed out on a play-off place because their goal difference was minus one worse than that of Watford, which finished sixth in the Coca-Cola Championship.
Meanwhile, West Bromwich Albion was promoted to the English Premier League after two seasons away as champion of the second-tier Championship after a 2-0 win away to Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
Stoke City, which hasn't played in English football's top flight since 1985, also gained automatic promotion after finishing runner-up after a goalless draw with Leicester City.
