INDICATIONS emerged
at the weekend that
some top shots in the aviation sector have intensified moves to canvass for the removal of the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Dr. Harold Demuren.
It was learnt that a petition had been forwarded to the Ministry of Air Transportation, in which some elements are cashing in on the missing Beechcraft 1900D aircraft belonging to Wings Aviation to marshal their cause for the NCAA boss’ incompetence.
A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told the Nigerian Tribune that the petition, which had been forwarded to the Presidency, accused Demuren of being tribalistic as well as not carrying people along in his leadership at the nation’s aviation regulatory body.
The source, however, said that those behind the petition were mere job seekers, who were trying to draw the aviation sector backward, judging by the achievements the industry had recorded since the NCAA boss assumed office.
