Arik airline begins flights to Sokoto today

One of the nation’s flag carrier, Arik Air, today begins flights to Sokoto, the seat of the caliphate. From today according to public affairs officer of the airline,Ola Banji,the airline is expected to connect Sokoto from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The daily flight between Abuja and Sokoto will depart the Nnamdi Azikiwe Domestic Airport, Abuja at 10:40am and arrive Sokoto at 11:50am with the return flight leaving the Sultan Abubakar III International Airport, Sokoto at 12:20pm and arrive Abuja at 1:30pm.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Saa’d Abubakar III is expected to be on the inaugural flight from Abuja to Sokoto while Arik Air chairman, Sir Joseph Arumemi-Johnson and other top management staff of the airline including the Managing Director, Michael McTighe, will also be on the inaugural flight.

With the commencement of flights to Sokoto, Arik Air now connects 16 airports across Nigeria. Other airports connected by the airline are, Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Calabar, Benin, Kano, Jos, Warri, Maiduguri, Yola and Owerri.
