FG to review agreement with owners of Lagos airport new terminal

The Federal Government may soon review the 36 years Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) agreement it has with owners of the new terminal at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos over public outcry.

The agreement was first signed with Royal Sanderton, which initially won the contract to rebuild the new terminal automatically transfered to the new owner, Bi-Courtney, which took over after Royal Sanderton lost the contract.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that the issue would soon be discussed by the House of Representatives, especially the committee on aviation, which is said to have condemned the deal and other rights granted Bi-Courtney.

It was gathered that contrary to the belief that former President Olusegun Obasanjo signed the 36 years deal with Bi-Courtney before leaving office, the former President did not sign the deal at all.

The deal being hooked on to by Bi-Courtney was said to have been the one signed by the Ministry of Aviation which was not approved by the Obasanjo administration .
