Skye Bank holds Ibadan investors’ forum - 05.02.2008

Skye Bank will today hold an investors’ forum at Le-Chateau, Bodija in Ibadan to intimate the people of Ibadan and Oyo State in general with the ongoing public offering of the company’s shares.

The bank is offering 2,231,599,145 ordinary shares of 50 kobo each at N14.00 per share. It is also offering rights issues of 1,500,608,958 of 50 kobo each at N12.50 per share to its existing shareholders.

The offer which opened on Monday, 14 January, 2008 closes on Wednesday, 20 February, 2008. The offer has enjoyed unprecedented support from leading traditional rulers in Yorubaland, all of who described the offer as a very good one and advised their people not to allow the opportunity to invest in the offer elude them.

At the palace of the Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland, the monarch, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran, praised the management of the bank for what it had been able to do with the bank. He described the stock of the bank as a good one with great prospects.

While welcoming the Skye Bank team who paid a courtesy call on him in his palace, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Oyewunmi Ajagungbade, said he was proud to be associated with the bank. He called on all forward-looking people to invest in the shares of the bank.

Speaking in a similar vein, the Olokuku of Okuku in Osun State, described the offer of the bank as one that comes with peace of mind and called on his people to seize the opportunity to get a good portion of the shares.

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade 1, also spoke highly of the bank when a team from the bank visited him in his palace just as the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi did.

Earlier, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, had praised both the management and board of the bank for their efforts to put the bank in the rank of the best on the continent.
