SIX employees of Ahmadu Bello University Community Bank were on Monday arrested over alleged N24 million fraud in the bank.
A source close to the bank told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Zaria that the suspects were taken to Samaru police division for questioning over their alleged role in the fraud.
The source said the deal was blown open following a complaint by a customer that his account was tempered with by unknown persons.
``A committee was set up by the university management and after it had completed its investigation, N24 million were allegedly mismanaged in the guise of granting loan," the source said.
The source noted that some customers of the bank had their accounts illegally debited between N250,000 and N300,000 for a loan that were not granted to them.
