NAMA inaugurates anti-fraud committee

IN its determination to operate a fraud-free administration in the New Year, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) on Thursday inaugurated its procurement planning and tender committee in line with the Procurement Act of 2007 and the Federal Government’s directive for its immediate implementation by agencies.

The Managing Director of the agency, Captain Ado Sanusi, while inaugurating the nine-man committee at NAMA’s Lagos head office, urged the members to adhere to the rule of law, while carrying out their duties, adding that they also should be acquainted with the Public Procurement Act.

Sanusi said with the inauguration of the committee, all tender related matters would now be handled by it, just as he explained that the role of the tender committee would not conflict with the agency’s procurement unit.

“This committee is being constituted in recognition of the importance which government is attaching to procurement matters and in line with our respect for the rule of law. I urge that you co-operate and collaborate on areas of interest,” he added.

According to the public affairs officer of NAMA, Supo Atobatele, the first assignment of the committee would be the recent advertisement on the installation of Very Small Aperture Terminals (VSAT) and Very High Frequency Radio (VHF) to modernise communication system of the agency.
