What she deserves this season

THE new year is here again and every one is caught up in the frenzy of the season. The season gives everyone a reason to celebrate. The season is a period that ushers in love, peace and joy. More effort is always put into the preparation for the season by individuals to show love and affection to their loved ones as the season gives room to appreciate one another in a special kind of way.

Ladies love a little bit of pampering and after so much preparation for the yuletide season, they can’t wait to see what their man has in stock for them as a “thank you” gift.

The exchange of gifts during the Christmas season has been argued by many to mean so much to women than the menfolk. That is why Men's Roundtable went to town to seek peoples’ opinions. Excerpts:

Mr. Jolamade Gbenga, architect: My wife deserves so much from me this season because she has proved herself to be one in a million. She stood by me throughout last year when the going was a little bit rough and I was not able to appreciate her. This time around, I’ve bounced back on my feet and as such, I won’t hesitate to spoil her silly. I’m planning on giving her a car as a surprise gift this new year as I’ve already purchased it for her. She’s going to be very happy because I bought the model she has been dreaming about.

Dumebi Isaac, civil servant: Though my woman deserves a lot this season but I might not be able to give her something reasonable because the salary we are being paid does not leave room for such frivolities. Anyway, I would buy her clothes or give her money to buy whatever she wants for herself.

Mr. Sanya Dasaolu, businessman: This period is a good season to appreciate the woman in one’s life and as such, I make sure I give my wife something good every New Year. This year, I intend to change her kitchen which means so much to her. Maybe a facelift or renovation. Buy new sets of hardwares, kitchen utensils and appliances, etc. She would really be happy because she has been clamouring for it for a long time. I also intend to take her to a resort centre for two days just for her to be away from the kids and rest. Let her have sometime for herself to reflect and make plans for the year.

Adeniyi Gabriel, banker: My fiancee deserves a lot this season but the special gift I am going to give her would definitely be a surprise because she has been waiting for a long time for this special gift and I’ve been postponing it. I’ve already told her we would be going to the “cattle ranch” at Obudu for a weekend but I didn’t tell her I’ve already bought our engagement ring and she does not know that I am planning to propose marriage to her there. She would be so thrilled. I guess this is the best gift she deserves this season. All other things are just material things.

Adichie Odogwu, trader: If I have the money, I am planning on paying for a piece of land in my village and I hope to buy it in her name. That is the best gift I can give her though I don’t mind to spoil her silly if I had the means. If I cannot secure the land this new year, I would give her some money to invest more in her business.

Olaseni Adekunle, musician: It is not only the new season that a woman deserves to be appreciated but all the year through. I take her out, get gifts for her at any opportunity. So, if I don’t get her anything this season, it does not mean that I love her less.

The new year is not just a season to dole out gifts but a time to sit down and reflect on how to help the less-priviledged in the society. There is always time for you to pamper your woman whenever you want.

After everything said, everyone deserves a bit of pampering. So, suprise the woman in your life this new year with a luxury gift. You will be happy you did.
