Making God the master builder
Dear Reader,
Happy New Year! You are welcome to the year where you will ride on Eagles’ Wing. This year will be a glorious year for you, full of surprises and testimonies, as you diligently apply yourself to all you will be receiving in this column all through this year. You must be prepared to do all you can to ensure that all-round distinction is the heritage of your family this new year. Your family shall be distinguished this year, in Jesus’ Name!
Through God’s Word this month, I will be examining the theme, Making God the master builder. This week, I will be teaching on God, the Builder of all things.
It is important for you to know that God is the ultimate builder of every home. God’s servant Bishop, David Oyedepo says, “Nothing works on its own; every working thing is made to work by someone.” Hebrews 3:4 says: For every house is builded by some man but He that built all things is God.
For many, the architect and builder of their marriage is “Self”. This is why so many marriages fail today. The Word of God rightly says: Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman wakes but in vain. (Psalm 127:1). I want you to know that you are only able to keep your home through God’s enablement because without God, you can do nothing (John15:5). Attribute whatever goodness you see in your home to God. Never give room to pride in your life, when you start seeing the good fruit of a blessed marriage. Pride is a destroyer of man’s destiny; so, give it no place in your life.
Today, many homes are broken and many are at the brink of divorce. The reason is from the beginning they built their homes by themselves; they refuse to allow God to be the builder. They never took the counsel of God as we read in Isaiah 30:1 which says: Woe to the rebellious children, says the Lord, Who take counsel, but not of Me, And who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, That they may add sin to sin. Never forsake the counsel of God, as far as your home is concerned.
As single persons, if you want God to build your homes, you must take counsel from God. Let Him have His way. By doing that, your homes cannot be shaken because they are built on the rock of ages - Jesus Christ Himself. If you want a blessed and happy home let God be your foundation.
You need to find out God’s master plan for your marriage. Praise God, your family is blessed with children, you have a loving husband or wife and you are heaven-bound. Find out other plans of God for your family. Your family can still be an example to your generation in giving and helping the needy. You can have a family, where every troubled soul will find peace and tranquility.
If you, as an individual, are going through any difficulty in your home, why don’t you find out whether you have missed God’s plan for your marriage. Tell Him that you are ready to walk after His plan.
