Jonathan would have been killed before 2007 election - Iwu

The Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Maurice Iwu, made a startling revelation on the plot of the political class to destabilise the country on the eve of the 2007 elections, saying the Vice-President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, would have been killed.

Iwu, who was speaking on the situation faced by the INEC on the eve of the elections, said the current vice-president would have been killed in his country home.

Delivering a lecture at the ninth Quadrennial National Delegate Conference of the Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU) in Enugu, the INEC chairman said, but for luck, the vice-president, who was the state governor at that time, would have become a dead man, just in an attempt to scuttle the electoral process.
