CCII advocates Ibadan State creation

THE Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) has advocated for the creation of Ibadan State as a means of developing the city.

The Council made this known, on Tuesday during a visit to the Nigerian Tribune in Ibadan.

Receiving the Council, the Controller (Audit), Mr. Dayo Adepoju, on behalf of the Managing Director, Rev’d Samuel Adesua, thanked the visitors for their partnership with the Nigerian Tribune and reiterated the company’s support at all times to the progress of CCII.

Speaking further, Mr. Adepoju acknowledged the importance of a unified Ibadan front and urged the council to advise those in governance to ensure adequate security and provision of basic amenities in the mega city.

Speaking on behalf of the visitors, the Chairman of the council, Chief Y.A. Akande thanked the Nigerian Tribune for giving them the opportunity to visit Tribune House and show themselves as the new Executives of the council.

Akande, revealing the mission of the council, said the founders of the council had the sole purpose of moving the city forward, adding that the council is not a political, religious or racial group.

He, stressed that the progress of Ibadan in all aspects of development, could be made possible through the creation of Ibadan State and hinted, that sensitization of Ibadan citizens towards this objective was top priority in the forthcoming Ibadan week stated for November this year.
