CBN governorship: Senate screens Sanusi today

THE Senate said on Tuesday that the nominee for the position of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi would be screened in the plenary today.

The screening that will be covered by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has been fast tracked to enable the Senate complete the process the same day.

If he is confirmed, Sanusi could resume almost immediately as the Senate is set to complete the process of his screening before proceeding on a two-week recess on Thursday.

Sanusi, according to the Senate, will be screened in a Committee of the Whole, the same treatment that ministers receive during screening.
