Ogun PDP tackles ANPP over allegation

THE Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied the allegation of illegal thump printing of fresh ballot papers for the 2007 governorship elections by the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in the state.

The state chapter of the ANPP had, on Monday, accused the PDP of illegal thumb printing of fresh ballot papers to be used in the defence of the ongoing election petition at the tribunal.

The PDP, through its Director of Organisation and Publicity, Mr. Adedeji Kalejaiye, described the allegation as “not only malicious but also cheap, coming from a drowning political party.”

Kalejaiye said there was no truth in the allegation, adding that the ANPP, having had the names of 235 persons struck out from its petition, “has become desperate because they now have a ‘limping’ petition.”

“It is sad to hear this kind of thing from them, and they have to prove it. We will ensure that we get to the root of all these, because they should not be allowed to get away with this kind of wild and evil allegation,” he said.
