Trust In God

GOD did not want His people to be under illusions. We have seen how God achieved difficult tasks through those that put their trust in Him. The land of Israel was surrounded by quarrelsome neighbours who were willing to crush them at the slightest opportunity. Though their land was small, yet they displayed enormous strength in times of wars and battles. God had groomed them to depend upon Him and trust Him for their safety. As long as they trusted in God and obeyed His laws, God in return was ensuring and assuring their protection and safety.

What then is trust?
Trust is the ability to rely on the goodness, strength, ability and capability of something or somebody. Trust in God, therefore, means the ability to depend and rely on Him for everything in life. It is the acknowledgement of God as the source of our existence. We exhibit trust in our day-to-day affairs. Every meaningful relationship is based on trust. In our quest to walk with God, therefore, trust is a strong hallmark that has no substitute. The Bible says, “People who trust in the Lord will be like Mount Zion . They will never be shaken. They will continue forever.” (Psalm 125:1) The amazing thing about God is that He does things that boost one’s trust as believers regularly. The key to receiving anything from God is Faith and Trust. During the latter part of the ministry of Jesus, He gave more and more time to the private instruction and preparation of His own disciples. On one occasion, the crowd turned away from Jesus and only the twelve remained. They did so because they heard that Jesus had the “words of eternal life.”

Jesus Christ being a teacher taught His disciples how to depend on God for everything. Many of His miracles were done to teach people that with God all things are possible. He warned His disciples against unbelief, doubt and faithlessness. Jesus said, “If one of these little children believes in me, and another person causes that child to sin, then it will be very bad for that person. It would be better for that person to have a millstone tied around his neck and be drowned in the sea.” (Mark 9:42) Jesus knew that with all His teachings and miracles people were required to believe Him and trust Him. At the same time it is possible for those that trust and believe Him to lose their trust if others persuade them. Whatever that takes your trust in God away is of the devil and it must be resisted. The Bible says, “Without faith, a person cannot please God. Any person who comes to God must believe that God is real. And any person who comes to God must believe that God rewards those people who truly want to find him.” (Heb 11:6)

As I have said, God will continue to do things that will build your trust in Him, while devil will strive to affect your trust in God. Though the Israelites were positioned at the centre of hostile neighbouring nations, they were to put their trust in God for survival. In the same vein, you might be surrounded by unpleasant situations and circumstances, put your trust in God for survival. “The people that respect the Lord also listen to his servant. That servant lives completely trusting in God without knowing what will happen. He truly trusts in the Lord’s name, and that servant depends on his God (Isaiah 50:10). God has made adequate provision for us in His word, at the same time giving us preachers after His heart to interpret the word. Above all, He gave us His only begotten son, Jesus Christ who is our role model and mentor. King David said in one of his Psalms:“I trust the Lord, so why did you tell me to run and hide? You told me, fly like a bird to your mountain, bad people are like a hunter. They hide in the dark; they pull back on the bowstring; they aim their arrows and shoot straight into the heart of good honest people. But the Lord is good, and he loves people doing good things; good people will be with him and see his face.”(Psalm 11:1-2 & 7). Once you put your trust in God, whatever the enemies are doing around will not affect your stability.

To trust in the Lord, you must remember what God has done for you in the past. Search the scripture for situations and events that God handled miraculously. Always see God as the Man at the centre of your battle. Don’t depend on your strength because by strength shall no man prevail: “Some people trust their chariot. Other people trust their soldiers. But we remember the Lord our God. The Lord saved his chosen king. God’s chosen King called for help and God answered.” (Psalm 20:7-9) Trusting God is our major task in winning the battle of life. The devil may be scheming and doing things to create fear in us, yet we must put our trust in Him (God). Is your health challenged? What about your business, family and education? The God that restored the health, family and business of Job is alive. Trust in Him and trust in Jesus Christ, the son of the living God for your restoration. David wrote in one of his psalms: “Lord, I depend on you. Don’t disappoint me. Be kind to me and save me. Lord, I trust you are my God. My life is in your hand, save me from my enemies. Some people are chasing me. Save me from them”(Psalm 31: 1, 14-15). God that delivered David from all his enemies shall deliver you in Jesus name.

The Gateway To Financial Fortune

ONE of the most destructive social vices is poverty. Poverty stinks! Poverty bites! It makes her victim vulnerable to sicknesses and diseases. Poverty kills! Eating good makes healthyliving! Eating good makes one strong! Eating good guarantees long life! But eating good takes good money.

All over the world, every man desires long life and prosperity. No one wants to be wished long life and poverty. Poverty has no friend! Poverty is an orphan and no one wants to identify with it. No one in his or her right mind wishes to be poor. Whether we like it or not, money and wealth are important for living. Consciously or unconsciously, everybody needs them. They are actually the keenest contestants of God’s place in man’s life, not the devil’s. In the early morning of August 27, 1987, I heard the Lord speak to me while I was on a mission trip to U.S.A, “Get thee back home and make my people rich.” It was so clear that I was on the next available flight back to Nigeria. I had to cancel every engagement that I had in America because I heard that clear word from God. I said to myself, “Who am I? What do I have to enrich anybody? How would they believe that I am sent to enrich them?” Then God said via His Word, “As poor and making many rich” (2 Corinthians 6:10). “Never mind how you look, go and say what I said.” The world is a living witness today that that mandate was not fake; it came from God and its effect shows in the lives of multitudes. God sent me to bring His people out of the pit of poverty so that they can be fulfilled in life.

It is very important to tell you that God recognises the importance of prosperity. He takes pleasure in your prosperity and it gladdens His heart (Psalm 35:27). You can’t make yourself rich. It is the blessings of God that make one rich without adding sorrow to it (Proverbs 10:22).One of the effects of the fall of the first man called Adam was nakedness. Among the reasons why Jesus came is to redeem you and me from poverty. He came not only to enrich your spirit, but also to enrich you all round (3 John 2). He came down to take you up (Ephesians 2:5-7). Redemption qualifies you for the supernatural order of blessings. Redemption is your divine insurance for abundance. When God was to bring Israel out of Egypt, He gave them unusual favour and made them rich (Exodus 3:21; Psalm 105:37). The wealth of Egypt was transferred to them! They did not leave Egypt empty-handed. Hear this: If you are saved, you are secure materially. This is part of God’s package for you in redemption. He says you shall not go empty-handed! He is not interested in the poverty of His people. He wants you to enjoy financial fortune. Redemption is not complete without divine provisions. It is a vital gateway to financial fortune. Redemption is your authentic guarantee for divine provisions in life. If you are saved, you are secure materially and financially.

This is one major blessing that accompanies salvation. Towards the end of this teaching, I will show you how you can be saved. Joel 2:21-26 contains God’s agenda to make wondrous provisions available to you. We are in God’s great programme of wondrous provisions. We shall be swimming in unusual affluence, enjoying and living under divine conversion of fortune! From one telephone call, you can just hit a contract of about 20 billion naira! All you need is the understanding of the times, so that you don’t become a victim of life. The times we are in in heaven’s agenda are a season of divine decoration of His people. This is why God is determined to decorate your destiny (Isaiah 61:5-7). Supernatural prosperity is your heritage. Vengeance will catch up with anyone who gets angry with your fortune (Isaiah 61:2). I see all financial stress and material burdens come to an end in your life. Poverty will no more be identified with you. Friend, the question now is: Are you saved? You get saved by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. That is how to be born again.

You can be saved right now as you say this prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with your precious Blood. From today, I accept You as my Saviour and Lord. Thank You for saving me. Now I know I am born again! Next week, I will show you other things to do to enjoy financial fortune.
