Kuta was buried
in Minna, Niger State, on Sunday in accordance with Islamic injunctions.
Mourners began to troop to the palace of the Emir of Minna early in the morning to accord the deceased former senator the last respects.
Kuta, who was Second Republic’s Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, died on Saturday.
Among the early callers to the Emir’s palace were former President Ibrahim Babangida; the Niger State deputy governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ibeto; former Senate President, Chief Ken Nnamani and his deputy, Ibrahim Mantu.
Kuta’s corpse was taken in an ambulance to the Emir’s palace, where prayers were said for the repose of his soul.
The prayer session, attended by all first class emirs in the state, lasted for only two minutes.
The corpse was thereafter conveyed to the Minna central cemetery where it was buried.
