Oyegun, Oluwatade warn Yar’Adua on Ribadu

MORE reactions have continued to trail the planned removal of Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on the guise of going on a course, with a warning that President Umaru Yar’Adua weigh the consequences before approving of Ribadu’s exit.

Former Edo State governor, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, and former National Chairman of the Youth Wing Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Dr. Dele Oluwatade, in separate interviews with journalists, querried the rationale for sending Mallam Ribadu on course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS), Kuru, near Jos, at this time when the campaign against corruption had entered a crucial stage.

Besides, Chief Oyegun identified the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Fedration, Mr. Michael Andooakaa (SAN), and Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Maurice Iwu, as two persons presently causing Nigerians a lot of grief.

Oyegun said in the minds of the Nigerian public, it was clear that the minister, by his utterances and acts, had aligned with those who had looted and ruined the country.
