Divorce: Duro Soleye, wife, opt for out-of-court settlement

POPULAR socialite and Lagos medical practitioner, Dr. Duro Soleye, has opted for an out of court settlement with his estranged wife, Dr. (Mrs) Soleye, in a divorce suit filed before a Lagos High Court, sitting in Ikeja.
Mrs. Soleye had instituted a divorce suit at the court over a year ago, alleging her husband of infidelity and maltreatment, in a marriage of several years.

Also joined in the suit as a party is her husband’s new found love, Nike Oshinowo, a former beauty queen. At the resumed hearing of the case before Justice Elfreda Williams-Dawodu on Wednesday, counsel to the three parties, announced to the court that the petitioner and the respondents were currently engaged in a dialogue.

Chika Okoroko, legal counsel to the petitioner, agreed with the claims of Adedamola Aderemi, the counsel to the respondent and Abiodun Adenipekun, counsel to the party, on the latest development in the matter.

After hearing the submissions of the counsels Justice Williams-Dawodu, subsequently adjourned the matter till October 21, for the report of the dialogue and continuation of the trial.

It will be recalled that Mrs Soleye, had in her earlier testimony before the court, said that her husband turned her into an object of ridicule in the society, suffering psychological pains in the process.
