INSPECTOR General of Police, Mr. Mike Okiro, on Thursday effected a shake up in the police force which affected over 24 commissioners of police and 14 deputy commissioners of police.
According to a signal announcing the redeployments, Mr. Christopher Ola is now Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, M. Suleiman Fakai is Commissioner of Police, Enugu State; Mr. Charles Dawodu is CP Ondo and Alhaji Abubakar Sardauna is now in charge Cross River State.
Former Edo State Police Commissioner, Mr. Bala Hassan, has been appointed the Rivers State Police Commissioner; Mr. Mohammed Sambo is Commissioner of Police, Borno State; Mr. Olusegun Solomon is for Ogun State; Mr. Bashiru Azeez, formerly of Enugu State, is now CP Jigawa State; Alhaji Abubakar Saleh is CP Nasarawa and Mr. Ado Bello is CP Zamfara State.
Also appointed is Mr. Donald Iroham, formerly CP Imo State who is now Lagos State Police Commissioner; Innocent Ilozuoke, formerly CP Cross River is now CP Imo State while Anambra State now has Mohammed Abass as Commissioner of Police.
The new Commissioner in charge of Border Patrol is CP Ephraim Amakulor, Joseph Apapa, formerly of Ogun State is now CP Federal Operations FHQ; Shehu Babalola is now CP Railways, Oliver Osichukwu, formerly of Anambra, is now CP Port Authority Police; Abayomi Onashile, formerly CP Ekiti, is now CP Training ‘E’ Dept.
Vincent Ojo is now Deputy Commandant, Police Academy, Kano; Johnson Uzu-egbunem is now CP in charge Anti-Terrorism; Elizabeth Ayo-Eremie is now CP Administration, Criminal Intelligence at FHQ; Tambari Mohammed is Commissioner of Police in charge of Airport; Abubakar Mohammed is Commandant, Police College, Ikeja; Mr. Felix Ogbaudu, former CP Rivers State is now CP, Homicide ‘D’ Dept. FHQ.
Fourteen Deputy Commissioners of Police were also redeployed and they are Onuoha Udeka, acting CP ‘F’ Dept., FHQ; Sule Mamman, acting CP, Administration ‘B’ Dept. FHQ; Umar Saudi is Commandant, Police College, Maiduguri; Mohammed Gana is Commandant, Detective College, Enugu and Suleiman Abba is Deputy Force Secretary 1.
Others are Bala Nassarawa in charge of courses at Police Staff College, Jos; Sabo Ringim Ibrahim is posted to Police Academy, Kano as acting CP in charge of courses; Moses Saba Ndagi is acting CP administration, Force CID, FHQ, Abuja; Emmanuel Ayeni is acting CP Operations at Criminal Intelligence, FHQ, Abuja; Abdulahi Salihu Fana is new Commandant, Police College, Kaduna; Musa Daura is acting CP Administration, ‘E’ Dept, FHQ.
Benjamin Uche Onwuka is posted to Katsina State as Second in Command; Cynthia Amajor-onu is now DC Administration, ‘C’ Dept. FHQ, Abuja.
The signal directed that these postings are to take immediate effect and instructed that Deputy Commissioners of Police and Assistant Commissioners of Police on CPs and DCPs duty post should wear Commissioners of Police and Deputy Commissioners of Police rank, on acting capacity pending ratification of the Police Service Commission.
Furthermore, all handing and taking over are to be completed on or before Monday.
