Port Harcourt were treated to a rendezvous of a lifetime when Gordon’s Spark, one of the premium brands on the stable of Guinness Nigeria Plc, stormed the town with its Thank Gordon’s Spark It’s Friday (TGIF) party train on Friday April 25, 2008.
The event, which attracted the young and upwardly mobile people of Port Harcourt , was held at Muriela Hotel in the high brow GRA area, right in the heart of the city. The venue was a beehive of activities as the crew of Sound City and Nigezie were on hand to give guests a red carpet treatment on arrival.
The Port Harcourt edition is coming on the heels of the earlier editions held in Lagos, Abuja, Jos, Ibadan and Uyo which aims at engendering bonding between revelers, party enthusiasts who share one thing in common, a taste of style in all their relaxing and unwinding occasions.
Thank Gordon’s Spark its Friday (TGIF) is the fulfilment of the promise made by Mr. Tunde Falase, Marketing Director, Guinness Nigeria Plc, during the launch of the brand’s new label in 2007, that the brand will be involved in activities that will further enhance bonding with its consumers.

‘Be it in Abuja, Lagos, Benin, Uyo or Jos, the objective is the same. Gordon’s Spark, provided the right ambience for the celebrities to unwind in a fun-filled environment, filled with a lot of music, laughter and camaraderie in the house.
Rave -making DJ, Jimmy Jatt, who was on the console, thrilled the A-list guests to an unending flow of music, which kept them on their feet till the dawn of the next day.
Amidst the funfair, the brand rewarded ‘ladies and gentlemen of style’ with Gordon’s Spark memorabilia.
The taste of style was visible from the entrance of the hotel, as courteous Gordon’s Spark girls, dressed in colourfully branded T-shirts with bandana scarves to match, welcomed fun lovers and other guests, with warm smiles and bottles of the brand, to keep them in a good mood for the night. The Sound City and Nigezie crews also gave a celebrity touch to what ended an eventful and successful night that would be the talk of town for a long time to come.
