It’s crunch time for Star Quest bands
They are currently six bands, namely B-Sixz, Da
Heritage, Diamonds Expozee, Next and Spectrum.
They were formed from the 36 contestants who entered Star Fame Land on April 12.They are blessed with individual talents and have performed Acapella as members of their bands, they have also performed Naija flavour as well as pick & sing but the fate of three of these bands would be decided by the cumulative votes of TV viewers who have been following Star Quest transmission on television since April 20.
The three remaining bands would now proceed to the finals at Expo Hall, Victoria Island on May 10, 2008.
It is indeed getting hotter at Star Fame Land as the programme moves to its final stages. All the bands are in very high spirits but apprehension still shows in their faces knowing that their dreams of making it big in music using the Star Quest platform may fizzle out next week.
The bands have all been squaring up to the challenge of making it to the next stage or dropping out of the competition. It was really thrilling as they moved swiftly to compose and engage in rigorous rehearsals to come out in dazzling forms last week.
It was strictly a Naija, as the bands tried to outwit one another in their battle for supremacy. For sure, only the band with the highest votes will be declared winner at the end of the competition. It was also another hilarious moment last week as Aisha Malik, the damsel from Sokoto state and vocalist with one of the contesting bands turned a year older. To mark the day, the entire household was treated to a big bash.
Will it B-Sixz, Da Heritage and Diamonds, Expozee, Next or Spectrum on May 10? Which band would make it to the final? The coming week would show the way as TV viewers and people who appreciate good music make their choice.
