Prepare for unusual things, Adeboye tells Nigerians

Nigerians should be prepared for new things which had never been heard of in the country in 2008. General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Adejare Adeboye, said this on Tuesday in Lagos at a special service to usher in the new year.

“God will do a new thing in Nigeria this year,” he said, adding that “if we, His children, will continue to pray, the hot spots in Nigeria will begin to cool down,” he said.

The cleric urged Nigerians to be full of prayers for President Umaru Yar'Adua this year. Adeboye warned that “floods in 2008 may be more than what was witnessed in 2007 in the international scene,” stressing that ``to be forewarned is to be forearmed.

“We must also pray against the return of destructive hurricanes this year,” he added. The General Overseer said that 2008 would witness major medical and scientific breakthroughs globally.

He urged Christians to partner with God to accomplish projects that had proved unattainable last year. He noted that accelerated promotion and the deeper experiences of God awaited many.
