The Ears of Heaven, first Christian Nite Club, opens in Benin

Christians in the country need not worry about where to enjoy themselves again as foremost socialite, Andy Ideh, has come up with a unique idea like the popular christian Nite Club in America, Club Damascus.

Named, “The Ears of Heaven”, Andy explained that his objective of establishing the club is to spread the gospel, act as a retreat center, be a bridge builder among christians, discover talents and help orphanage homes through its proceeds.

The club, according to him “is a place where christians and non-christians can party with purity without alcohol and no photographs, enjoying and dancing to christian music in a relaxed atmosphere. Its a subtle way of evangelism and praise worship.

“There will be film shows, singles nite, family retreat, karaoke and others”.

On how he’ll break the denominational barrier, Andy said “ that won’t be a problem. we have done our home work. People from all churches will come.

"There will be a restaurant, hall, gift shop, christian video/music club among others. Christians will come out at nights to dance, I can assure you.”

What’s Cottons Nite Club turning to?

By David Ajiboye

Front view of Cottons Nite Club
If you’re a regular visitor to Ibadan you must have probably visited or heard of Cottons Nite Club.

Located opposite the popular Labod Hotel at Bodija, the once-bubbling nite club is now a shadow of itself as it has been overtaken by women of easy virtues.

Take a ride to the club and what you see is a group of ladies lined up on the side of the road looking for men of same character.

Some even likened the club to the popular red light district in Lagos - Allen Avenue. Hope Hon. Yemi Arokodare, the proprietor of the club is reading this?
