God’s blueprint for your marriage (3)
updated: Friday 27-06-2008
Dear Reader,
Success in life and marriage is not a function of your smartness or connections, but a function of God’s favour, because the Bible says: Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing and obtaineth FAVOUR of the Lord (Proverbs 18:22). There is a greater dimension of favour that only the married can enjoy. God’s favour is the maker of men. When you secure His favour, you progress and succeed effortlessly in life.
When God honours the union of a man and his wife, no man can reverse it. Somehow, people become compelled to see that family as precious. They become exemplary, a reference point for a good marriage. Marriage then becomes desirous, which is what it should be. There is also a lifting and promotion in the physical status of a person, often occurring in an increase in material possessions, etc.
Once your marriage is fashioned according to God’s prescriptions in His Word, you procure His favour, and once that favour is there, it is irreversible. Even men are compelled to favour you, because when a man’s ways please the Lord, He causes even his enemies to be at peace with him. The favour of God elevates you to greater heights that make you to be envied by men. When you step out, hand in hand with your partner, people see the glory of God upon you. God honours you and opens all manner of doors before you. The single persons among them will desire to be like you, because the good hand of God upon your home will make marriage desirable to all who see you. God’s favour also secures for you a lifting and promotion in status, which also affects your financial and material prosperity. It is an established fact that society honours the married. Certain jobs and key positions are reserved for the married, because they are regarded and expected to be more responsible than single persons. God created marriage to give man an easy access to His favour so that he can live a sweatless life. This shall be your portion, in Jesus’ Name.
Taking a look at the first family (Adam and Eve), one discovers that even after the fall, Adam’s family still enjoyed God’s favour. They had sewn fig leaves together and made aprons to cover their nakedness. But because of the special favour God reserved for the family, He overlooked their betrayal and clothed them with animal skin. He clothed their nakedness and thus removed shame from them. In spite of the fact that Eve was the one deceived and the primary cause of the fall, out of favour, God made her a promise that: Her seed shall bruise the head of the serpent (Genesis 3:15). I see the favour of God coming your way today in Jesus’ name!
God’s favour is the maker of men. When you secure His favour, you progress and succeed effortlessly in life. To secure His favour, you need to surrender your life to Christ. You surrender by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Saviour and Lord.
