NFA Exco meets, unveils Amodu on Friday: Emordi says his boys are ready for fireworks - Cape Verde referees for Home-based Eagles

Niyi Alebiosu, Lagos - 01.05.2008

The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Association will meet tomorrow at the NFA Secretariat, Abuja.

The Committee will, among other things, look into how best the national senior team, Super Eagles should prepare for the forthcoming 2010 World Cup/Nations Cup qualifying matches against South Africa, Sierra Leone and Equatorial Guinea in the month of June.

Also on the same day, the Nigeria Football Association will formally unveil the new Head Coach of the Super Eagles, Mr Shuaibu Amodu and Assistants Daniel Amokachi, Fatai Amoo and Aloysius Agu.

The event will take place at the Conference Room of the National Stadium, Abuja. Meanwhile, the home-based Super Eagles, currently gearing up for Sunday’s African Nations Championship qualifying match against their counterparts from Burkina Faso in Calabar, will be up for the big game with plenty of gusto.

Head Coach Okey Emordi said in Calabar that even though it’s a novel competition, his boys would approach it with all the experience and exposure that they have mustered over the years.

“I have players in the team who can crack a few hard nuts and still keep going strong. They’ve got experience and ability and will help us very much”, said Emordi.

The team is staying at the Pyramids Hotel in Calabar ahead of the cracker at the U. J. Esuene Stadium.
