heavyweight champion, Nigeria’s Samuel Peter, has said that he wants to face the best boxers and not those he terms ‘crap fighters’.
The Nigerian Nightmare, who knocked out Russian boxer, Oleg Maskaev on March 8 to emerge world heavyweight champion told BoxingScene.com that his mind was set at unifying the heavyweight class, adding that he wanted the IBF and WBA belts.
“I want to fight the best fighters, like the Klitschko fighters. Those are the warriors. I don’t fight crap fighters. If [WBA heavyweight titlist Ruslan] Chagaev or Klitschko is ready, those are the good fighters. We can do this right now. I want to unify the IBF/WBA belts,” the Nigerian boxer said.
Peter stated that he preferred to fight any boxers in the top 10, adding that he is a boxer who did not duck opponents.”I fight good fighters. I don’t fight class “F” fighters. I’m willing to fight anybody in the top ten. I’m not a guy who is ducking people.”
The Nigerian, who has a record of 30 wins (with 23 knock outs) and one loss, revealed that he would defend his title “as soon as possible”.
