Uwais committee to commence public hearing soon

THE Electoral Reform Committee set up by President Umaru Yar’Adua has concluded arrangements to begin public hearing in the six-geopolitical zones in the country.

The public hearings will be held from May 12 to June 27 in 13 centres, two each in the six geopolitical zones, and one in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Individuals, groups and agencies that wish to participate in the public hearings are to contact the office of National Orientation Agency (NOA) nearest to them or contact the committee directly at its headquarters in Abuja.

They are to state their names, addresses, subjects of presentation and the hearing venue at which they wish to appear.

The public hearings will avail stakeholders and the general public the opportunities to participate in the electoral reform process.
