Following the repositioning drive
and growth of Afribank Nigeria Plc., a new chairman may have been appointed for the bank.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that Mr. Osas Osunde, presently the vice chairman on the board of the African Petroleum (AP) Plc., and among the new list of directors of the bank which had been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), would soon chair the board of the bank.
Nigerian Tribune learnt that Osunde, a notable stockbroker, has since been chosen by other directors of the bank.
Shareholders of the bank are expected to endorse his appointment at the bank’s next annual general meeting.
The Director General of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Professor Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke and Managing Director of Afribank Plc., Mr. Sebastian Adigwe, gave credence to the appointment of Osunde which is yet to be rectified by the CBN on the floor of the exchange at the presentation of the facts behind its figures of the bank on Wednesday.
