Zamfara Gov Set To Marry IBB’s Daughter

Preparations are in top gear for the wedding solemnisation between Zamfara State Governor, Alhaji Mamuda Aliyu Shinkafi, and the daughter of the former military president, Aisha Babangida, Saturday Tribune can authoritatively reveal.

Though the actual date for the wedding is still being kept secret by the two families for obvious reasons, Saturday Tribune gathered that the wedding will come up very soon at the Hilltop Mansion of the retired general sometime in March.

Governor Shinkafi had since sent a powerful delegation to seek Aisha’s hand in marriage after the collapse of her first marriage to Bashir, a cousin of former Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, a source said.

According to the source, when the delegation arrived the Hilltop Mansion of the Babangidas, the former president approved of their request.

Aisha, the source disclosed, was introduced to the governor by one of the governor’s friends who resides in Kano and also had a close ties with the IBB family.
