Lecturer arrested over rape

A University Don, (names withheld), of the Department of Industrial Chemistry, Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, has been arrested by the State Police Command, for allegedly raping a female student of the institution and subsequently taking photographs of her nudity.

Parading the suspect before newsmen at the Command Headquarters on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Assistant Suprintendent of police (ASP), Nudam Fredrick, said that the alleged rapist and others, forced the victim at gunpoint, to an undisclosed location along Rice Mill, Abakaliki, where the victim was dispossessed of her mobile phone and raped afterwards.

According to the Police image maker, the alleged rapist confessed to have committed the act, admitted being a member of the Black Axe Fraternity.

In another development, the State Police Command has nabbed a fraudster, Nwaze – Ogbonnaya, who has been duping unsuspecting members of the public under the guise of obtaining admissions for victims, into the City of London College, United Kingdom.
